Bergen Avenue Streetscape Update

(click the map to enlarge)

Bergen Avenue Streetscape Update:

Several sections of the east side of Bergen Avenue are currently being worked on and are near completion, including Highland to Vroom, Vroom to Smith and mid-block from Academy to Newkirk. Newkirk to Sip should begin shortly. These sections are due to be completed in approximately 3 weeks.

Work on the intersection at Academy and Bergen has been delayed due to the fact that the State has not yet signed-off on the design.

Once the work is complete on those sections of the east side that are currently in progress, work will begin on the west side of Bergen Avenue. The work on the west side will start at Newkirk and progress down toward McGinley Square. Work from Newkirk to Sip will not be scheduled for 2-3 months.

In the event that the design for the Academy/Bergen intersection is approved by the state, work will cease on other sections and will be refocused on the intersection.
